Course 01 · Scripture & Covenant

Opening
His Book.

Learn to hear a passage within its speaker, audience, Covenant setting, literary argument, and the whole witness of Scripture—then carry what has been heard into the walk.

The purpose

Truth is not built from an isolated verse.

Opening His Book is the Institute’s foundation course. It trains the learner to slow down, attend to the text itself, and resist the urge to force Scripture into a conclusion already chosen.

The work is not finished when a learner can explain a passage. Understanding must be guarded, tested, and lived. The course therefore joins close reading with reflection, discussion, and practical obedience.

Six-module course map

Read within the whole witness.

01

The Book Before the System

Begin with what the passage says before inherited systems, favorite teachers, or preferred conclusions are allowed to speak over it.

02

Speaker, Audience, and Occasion

Identify who is speaking, who is being addressed, what has happened, and why the words were given in that moment.

03

Covenant and Literary Setting

Trace the Covenant setting, the surrounding chapter, the movement of the book, and the form of the passage.

04

Scripture Interpreting Scripture

Follow words, themes, and related passages without flattening their differences or using one verse to silence another.

05

Statement, Interpretation, and Tradition

Mark what the text states directly, what is interpretation, what is inference, and what has been received as tradition.

06

Hear, Guard, Obey, and Walk

Turn careful reading into tested understanding, accountable practice, and fruit that can be seen beyond the lesson.

What the learner will practice

Hear. Guard. Obey. Walk.

Observe

Record what the passage actually contains before explaining what it means.

Trace

Follow its place in the chapter, book, Covenant, and related witness.

Distinguish

Separate direct statement, evidence, interpretation, inference, tradition, and unresolved questions.

Respond

Name the faithful practice the text requires and carry it into accountable life.

Clear boundaries

The first cohort will not be rushed.

Applications are being gathered so the Institute can understand the first learners, preferred format, and need for assisted access. A schedule and tuition will be announced only after the curriculum and delivery plan are ready.

No payment is collected through this page. HalleluYah Scriptures is the intended primary Scriptural text; People of His Book Institute™ is independent and does not claim affiliation with or endorsement by the HalleluYah Scriptures team.
